    • Minister of Economy and Trade Mohammad Nidal al-Shaar held discussion with Damascus Chamber of Commerce regarding the means for implementing new and effective mechanisms for cooperation and partnership in decision-making between the government and chambers of commerce. The Minister affirmed the need for establishing new partnerships between the two sides.1

    Meanwhile, Lebanese President Michel Sleiman discussed with Syria's Ambassador to Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim about the state of relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them at all levels, in addition to all the aspects of cooperation. A statement issued by the Presidential Palace in Lebanon mentioned that the Lebanese President was briefed by Ambassador Abdul-Karim on the situation in Syria during the meeting.2 Meanwhile, separately, Lebanese President reiterated Lebanon's support to stability in Syria, voicing Lebanon's backing to the process of comprehensive reforms initiated by the Syrian leadership lately.3
