  • On the eve of Prime Minister Dr. Singh’s visit to Assam, suspected militants of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) set off three blasts and mounted a grenade attack on April 6, a day before its founding day. At least eight persons were killed and over 62 were injured in the terror attacks. The explosions took place amidst reports that the two top bomb experts of the ULFA - identified by the police as Monohari Rajbongshi and Pradip Kalita, recently arrived in the city to carry out such attacks1.
