Australian Defence Minister: Large investments required to overcome hollowness of defence capability

  • The Australian government has expressed dissatisfaction over the capability of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to field equipment and platforms that are fully operationally prepared. Its Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon told Jane’s on April 1 that in order to overcome the “hollowness” in the ADF’s field capability, “large investments” were required to “remediate frontline capability”1.
