  • Reports noted that Chinese President Hu Jintao reached Seoul for the Nuclear Security Summit. Leaders from more than 50 countries are participating in this Summit.1

    Meanwhile China has announced that it will be working towards boosting relations with Russia. Chinese Vice-President Xi Jingping stated this during his meeting with Vladislav Surkov, Russian Deputy Prime Minister.2

    Beijing has also expressed hope that China and India will improve their relations as a result of the meeting of both parties during the upcoming BRICS Summit in New Delhi.3

    Also, China and the European Union have agreed to increase cooperation in water management.4

    Chinese Army has announced its desire to boost cooperation with Germany.5

    On the other hand, China has expressed grave concern over North Korea’s announcement of the launch of a satellite in April 2012.6
