  • President Ahmadinejad visiting Afghanistan stated that foreign forces should leave the country and added that “regional countries know much better how to establish their own peace and security and make progress …” He also noted that the best way to fight terrorists was not on the battlefield but through the use of intelligence.1

    In other developments, Iranian news agency ISNA cited latest US Census Bureau reports indicating that trade between Iran and the US almost doubled in January 2010, compared to December 2009. Bilateral trade was worth more than $37 million in January 2010, of which $31 million were US exports to Iran and $6 million were goods exported to the US from Iran. In December 2009, US exports to Iran were $11.3 million while Iran exported $7.5 million worth of goods.2
