Iran’s Energy Minister Parviz Fattah stated that Iran’s first nuclear power plant in the southern city of Bushehr will begin generating electricity by August 2009. The 1,000-megawatt power plant, where test operations were started in February, will produce about 500 megawatts of electricity1.
