Israel unveils its Super Heron UAV at the Singapore Air Show

    According to reports, Israel has unveiled its Super Heron UAV at the Singapore Air Show. The Super Heron is an upgrade of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI)'s Heron medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV. The Super Heron has a heavy fuel 200 horsepower engine and an advanced propulsion system. Super Heron’s air speed is more than 150 knots, compared to about 113 for the original Heron. The upgraded aircraft includes enhanced processing capabilities, more electrical power, and more systems redundancy. Endurance of the Super Heron is 45 hours and 1,000 kilometers, as well as a maximum altitude of 30,000 feet. The original Heron debuted in 1994. It has been used by some 15 nations, including the U.S., Israel, Turkey and India. 1
