US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, Robert Blake urged India to raise the FDI cap in defence from the current 26 per cent to 49 per cent. He added that a higher FDI cap will “provide more opportunities for US companies interested in defence sales in India." US defence companies have bagged orders worth billions of dollars from India in recent past.1
