Reports noted that Saleh Al Mutlaq, a top Sunni politician belonging to the National Dialogue Front (NDF) has decided to take part in the upcoming general election. He had earlier stated that his party will not take part in the polls after he was banned from contesting the elections. The NDF with 11 seats in the outgoing legislature is the second-largest Sunni bloc in parliament and is a part of Prime Minister Al Maliki’s coalition.1
