  • The ensuing LPG supply crisis seems to have abated as market leader Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) dramatically increased the supply of LPG cylinders. In the past few weeks, customers had to wait for around 10 days beyond the 21 days restriction period for refill supplies of LPG cylinders. Reports noted that the gap had now come down to 2-3 days beyond the mandatory three week period before the next filling. Senior officials in the company told the media that the company and its distributors were working even on Sundays to clear the backlog. They noted that the IOC would resume issuing of new connections from March 1 if the present situation continued to improve1.
