    Reports noted that Indian Foreign Secretary Ranjan Mathai went to Dhaka on a three-day visit on February 9, 2013, to discuss full range of bilateral issues between Bangladesh and India at foreign secretary-level meeting as well as to lay the groundwork for India's External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid’s two-day visit to Bangladesh on February 16. During this visit, Shri Khurshid will attend the Joint Consultative Commission meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart Dipu Moni.1

    In another development, reports noted that Foreign Minister Dipu Moni left from Dhaka on February 3, 2013 for Cairo to represent Bangladesh in the 12th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Summit scheduled to be held on February 6-7. 2 Addressing the inaugural session Foreign Minister Dipu Moni called for greater solidarity in the Muslim Ummah for addressing challenges and utilising opportunities that lie before the Muslim world. She also supported a fully sovereign Palestinian state within its pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital in her statement. 3

    In other development, reports noted that Bangladesh honoured Bhutanese Foreign Minister Ugen Tshering with the “Friends of Bangladesh Liberation War” honour for his invaluable contributions as a social worker to the War of Liberation in 1971. 4
