According to reports, Israeli armed forces Chief Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz on February 3 began a five-day visit to USA. The chief will meet his U.S counterpart Gen. (Martin) Dempsey and other American officials. The two Generals will also discuss current security challenges, the regional security status in the Middle East and military cooperation. Gantz’s visit comes in the wake of Israel’s air strike on military installations in Syria purportedly to prevent arms transfers to Lebanon’s powerful Shiite group Hezbollah. 1
