  • According to reports, Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani has said that Pakistan has reservations over granting the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India. Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Jilani said commerce secretary-level talks will take place soon with India in which Pakistan will speak about its reservations, although he said that the federal cabinet had agreed upon granting MFN status to India. He further said that trade between two countries was important. 1

    According to reports, Pakistan protested to India over what it said was an unprovoked attack by the Indian Army on a Pakistani check post in the Kashmir region. However, Indian officials accused the Pakistan Rangers of resorting to "unprovoked mortar shelling" at Indian positions in Hajipir area of Uri sector on the LOC. The Pakistani shelling was intended to help militants to sneak into the Kashmir Valley from Pakistan but Indian troops thwarted the attempt, the official added. 2
