As many as 55 Maoists surrendered before the district authorities at Gadchiroli in Maharashtra on January 13.1 They all belonged to three ‘dalams’ ((armed squads).

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, cadres of the Communist Party of India- Maoist (CPI-Maoist) killed D. Ramaswamy, a leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) party on January 8.2
