UN Security Council closes its dossier on Sri Lanka over the issue of child soldier; INS ‘Carnicobar’ arrived at the Port of Trincomalee on an operational visit

According to reports, the UN Security Council Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict adopted the “Draft Conclusions on the situation of children and armed conflict in Sri Lanka” on December 19, 2012, thereby closing the dossier on Sri Lanka in the Security Council. 1

In another development, an Indian naval ship ‘Carnicobar’ arrived at the Port of Trincomalee on an operational visit on December 25 and harboured in Sri Lanka till December 27. 2
