    Japan’s newly elected Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has recently expressed his intention to review previous administration’s policy to bring an end to nuclear power generation by 2030. He instead insisted on promoting a responsible energy policy within the next ten years. 1 He also emphasized on promoting regional security ties with India and Australia. While indicating that Japan’s bilateral ties with the US remains the central pillar of Japan’s foreign policy, he also argued that expansion of ties Russia and other Asian countries could help Japan in rebuilding its relations with China. 2
