Defence Minister A.K. Antony informed the Lok Sabha that the aircraft carrier Admiral Gorshkov will be inducted in December 2012.1 The carrier was earlier expected to be inducted in 2008, after India and Russia had signed a contract worth $974 million in 2004, following an inter-governmental agreement in 2000. The project has since been beset by delays and cost escalations.2
