The Tribunal constituted under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act upheld on November 10 the ban imposed by the government on the LTTE on May 14 for a period of two years. The LTTE was initially banned in India following the assassination of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, in May 1991. Since then it is being renewed every two years1.
