  • Reports noted that Bahrain summoned the Iranian charge d’affaires, Mahdi Islami, on October 15 to protest against “attributing baseless information to Bahraini officials” and against “interfering in domestic issues.” Hamad Al Amer, the Bahraini foreign ministry undersecretary for regional affairs and the Gulf Cooperation Council has reportedly conveyed his government’s displeasure with some Iranian statements which are being falsely attributed to Bahraini officials; and has informed that “Such actions cause sedition and divisions and incite Bahrain’s sects against one another.” Al Amer also demanded an end to the Iranian interference in Bahrain’s domestic affairs and to incitement of some sections of society in Bahrain through the use of media.1
