Reports noted that DRDO was on the verge of developing multiple independently targetable re-entry vehicle (MIRV) technology. The MIRV will enable the placement of several warheads on a single missile, all of which can be fired at different targets. It is expected that the new technology would be deployed in the next 4-5 years. At present, only the US, Russia and China have this technology. 1
