Six people killed in suicide attack in Anbar province; Sunni cleric lost his life in car explosion

  • A suicide bomber killed 6 people and wounded 16 others at a funeral in Haditha in Anbar Province. In the same province, in the city of Falluja, three bombs killed one person and wounded five others. In other incidents of violence, two police officers were killed after a roadside bomb exploded in the northern city of Mosul.1

    A Sunni cleric, Jamal Humadi, who had denounced insurgents, was killed when a bomb exploded as he was driving home after his Friday sermons. Humadi was known for his opposition to the Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia and other Sunni insurgent groups. In the previous week, another Sunni cleric opposed to the group was killed in a mosque south of Mosul.2
