DG, IDSA Visits Dhaka for IDSA-BIISS Dialogue

    Director General, IDSA, Dr Arvind Gupta led a delegation of IDSA scholars, comprising Dr Smruti Pattanaik, Dr Anand Kumar and Dr Medha Bisht to Dhaka for an IDSA-BIISS Bilateral Dialogue. The delegation received warm welcome from DG, BIISS, Major Gen Imrul Quayes and his colleagues. The Bilateral discussions held on March 28-29, 2012, focused on India Bangladesh relations, land border issues, non-tariff barriers, transit, river linking project in India and media perceptions. A round table on the future of Bangladesh-India relations was also held. It was chaired by former State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Abul Hasan Choudhury. The delegation also visited Bangaldesh Naval Academy, Chittagong and the Cox’s Bazar. The two institutes have agreed to conduct joint studies on issues of mutual concern. The delegation also called on the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Shri Pankaj Saran.
