Member of China Reform Forum visits IDSA

    A group of senior and distinguished members of China Reform Forum, consisting of academics, intellectuals and senior Party Members visited IDSA on 1st November, and held an interactive discussion session with the Director General Mr. N. S. Sisodia, and scholars of the Institute.

    Welcoming the delegates, Mr. Sisodia mentioned the good work being done by the China Reform Forum in the realms of the Chinese economy and polity as well. Mr. Sisodia reiterated Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s assertion that there is enough space for cooperation between India and China, and expressed optimism that the relations between the two countries are poised to greater heights. He evinced interest for possible joint-collaboration and exchange programs between IDSA and the China Reform Forum, and shared his perception of improving India-China relations.

    Responding to the sentiment, Li Jintian, Leader of the delegation and Executive President of Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC, endorsed the idea for joint collaboration between the China Reform and IDSA and invited Director General to Beijing to conclude a formal agreement between the two institutes.

    Participating in the discussion was Dr. Arvind Gupta, Deputy Director General, and Lal Bahadur Shastri Chair who said that both India and China have successfully worked together in issues relating to climate change, and have contributed to peace and stability in the region and the world at large.

    There was free and frank discussion on issues of mutual interest between India and China with the members of the China Reform Forum.
